This dataset contains bird occurrence data collected at the Cumberland Plain site from 2015 - 2017.

The TERN citizen science fauna monitoring pilot project aims to collect long-term monitoring data using the TERN standard monitoring protocol for birds. In May 2021, TERN launched a citizen science project designed to monitor bird biodiversity at the Samford Ecological Research Facility (SERF) in peri-urban Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, in collaboration with Queensland University of Technology and the Samford Eco-Corridor community group. Bird monitoring is undertaken quarterly by citizen scientists using TERN standardised monitoring protocols which are based on the Birds Australia systematic bird survey ‘2 ha 20 minute search’ method.

<p>This dataset contains audio files for TERN Boyagin Wandoo Woodland SuperSite. Long-term recordings of the environment can be used to identify sound sources of interest, characterise the soundscape, aid in the assessment of fauna biodiversity, monitor temporal trends and track environmental changes.</p> <p>The site was established in 2017 at the Boyagin Nature Reserve with research plots located in Wandoo woodland (<em>Eucalypt sp.</em>). The core 1&nbsp;ha plot is located in a dense eucalypt woodland. The recording schedule aimed at capturing morning and evening bird choruses while minimizing memory and battery requirements. A long-term spectrogram has been generated for each audio file to aid in data exploration.</p> <p>Data are made available through the data link.
