Gather information on the flora and fauna of the proposed new mining area surrounding the existing Beverley Mine Lease to allow for the compilation of a new EIS that will allow mining over an increased area. 100 x 100 m quadrat with Jessup Transect were sampled at each of the 25 photopoint sites. Fauna monitoring used 10 of the photopoint sites selected for the vegetation survey. Two traplines sampled per site. Survey conducted in 2006. The Beverley Uranium Mine EIS Survey is part of the Biological Survey of South Australia Program which is a series of systematic surveys conducted across the state between 1971 and the present with the broad aim of providing a baseline inventory of South Australia's flora and fauna biodiversity.

The study area examined was within the boundaries of the Breakaway Reserve in the arid/semi arid region. The objectives of the study was to systematically sample the vegetation of the range of vegetation associations within the area by using a series of grids and to map the major vegetation associations using aerial photography. Vertebrate fauna were also surveyed at a series of sites within each major vegetation association in areas showing reasonably homogeneous vegetation and least disturbance. The Breakaway Reserve (Lands Department) Survey is part of the Biological Survey of South Australia Program which is a series of systematic surveys conducted across the state between 1971 and the present with the broad aim of providing a baseline inventory of South Australia's flora and fauna biodiversity.

Witjira National Park Dalhousie Mound Springs survey conducted by Scientific Expedition Group (SEG) in 2003. Expedition Witjira 2003 was a major collaboration between the SEG, DEH and NPWS. The main objective was to conduct a biodiversity survey of the area, particularly the mound springs, to observe any differences between the springs with original vegetation and those where feral date palms are invading the springs.Other objectives were to search for rare rodents, Kowari and marsupial Moles ans survey for feral animals. Project to undertake a survey of fauna and flora species with in the Winninowie Conservation Park. The aim of the project is to provide a better understanding of the species within the area for conservation purposes. The project was also used to improve the skill and training of regional staff in plant and animal identification, safe animal trapping practises and animal handling techniques. Trapping was conducted at 4 sites, over 4 nights (October 17-21 2008). Four vegetation sites (30m x 30m) also surveyed. The Winninowie CP Biological Survey Survey is part of the Biological Survey of South Australia Program which is a series of systematic surveys conducted across the state between 1971 and the present with the broad aim of providing a baseline inventory of South Australia's flora and fauna biodiversity.
