Seasonal Fractional Cover Summary Statistics - Landsat, JRSRP Algorithm Version 3.0, Queensland Coverage
The Seasonal Fractional Cover Summary Statistics datasets provide long-term statistical summaries derived from the seasonal fractional cover v3 product, calculated separately for each fraction. For each cover fraction, a separate raster image is generated for the full time series of available imagery. Each image includes the following statistical layers: 5th percentile (minimum), Mean, Median, 95th percentile (maximum), Standard deviation and Observation count.

- The input imagery was processed to level L1T by the USGS. Geodetic accuracy of the product depends on the image quality and the accuracy, number, and distribution of the ground control points. The fractional cover model was compared to samples drawn from approximately 4000 field reference sites.

- The USGS aims to provide image-to-image registration with an accuracy of 12m. Refer to the L8 Data Users Handbook for more detail. The fractional cover model predicts the vegetation cover fractions with MAE/wMAPE/RMSE of:<ul style="list-style-type: disc;"> <li>bare - 6.9%/34.9%/14.5%</li> <li>PV - 4.6%/37.9%/10.6% </li> <li>NPV - 9.8%/25.2%/16.9%.</li></ul>

Process step
- Description
- The long-term statistical summary products are derived from the seasonal fractional cover product, also produced by the QLD DETSI remote sensing sciences team. The statistical products are derived from the full time series of imagery available for each season, defined by standard calendar seasons. For each pixel, the following statistics are calculated: 5th percentile, mean, median, 95th percentile, standard deviation and count.

- Seasonal Statistics - 6 Band images: band 1 – 5th percentile minimum - robust minimum value for that pixel over the length of the full time series for that season only (percentage) band 2 - mean value for pixel over full time series for that season only (percentage) band 3 – median value for pixel over full time series for that season only (percentage) band 4 – 95th percentile maximum - robust maximum value for that pixel over the length of the full time series for that season only (percentage) band 5 – Standard deviation - the temporal standard deviation of the full time-series for that season only band 6 – Count - the number of observations statistics for that pixel are based on for that season only.
