Wombat Stringybark Eucalypt Stem Diameter, Height and Aboveground Woody Biomass Data
This data contains stem diameter, height measurement and above ground living biomass calculations for a Stringybark Eucalypt dominated woodland. Diameter and height measurements for stems ≥10cm diameter at breast height were sampled in 2014 and 2018 within the core 1 ha plot within the Wombat Stringybark Eucalypt site.

- Potential diameter and height outliers were assessed by looking at the absolute difference in 1) diameter and 2) height values for each individual stem between two measurement time points. If the diameter or height difference for an individual falls outside the 3rd standard deviation of the mean of that species, then it was flagged as a potential outlier.
Report
Result
- Statement
- All potential outliers were assessed by researchers who collected the data. Any value that was considered to be an outlier was removed from the final dataset.

- Statement
- Tree survey:
In March 2014, the diameter at breast height and height were measured for all individual stems ≥ 10 cm diameter at breast height (1.3 m) within the core 1 ha plot. In 2018 all stems within the 1 ha plot were mapped and diameter and height measurements were repeated.
Biomass calculations:
Above ground biomass was calculated using the mean value of different combinations of species specific allometric equations based on the Master's thesis of Bennett (2016) at the Wombat Stringybark Eucalypt SuperSite.
Species-specific equations (source):
Eucalyptus obliqua: (Keith et al., 2000) and (Bi et al., 2004)
Eucalyptus radiata: (Bi et al., 2015) and (Bi et al., 2004)
Eucalyptus rubida: equations based on Eucalyptus dalrympleana and Eucalyptus cycellocarpa (Bi et al., 2004)
Acacia dealbata: (Paul et al., 2013)
Biomass of dead stems was calculated using a reduction factor of 85% of alive biomass (Bennett et al., 2013) Note: both alive and dead stems are included in the site level calculation of above ground woody biomass.
