Aqueduct SnowGum Flux Data Collection

<br>This release consists of flux tower measurements of the exchange of energy and mass between the surface and the atmospheric boundary-layer using eddy covariance techniques. Data were processed using PyFluxPro (v3.4.18) as described by Isaac et al. (2017). PyFluxPro produces a final, gap-filled product with Net Ecosystem Exchange (NEE) partitioned into Gross Primary Productivity (GPP) and Ecosystem Respiration (ER).</br>

<br>The Aqueduct Snow Gum Flux station is part of the Australian Mountain Research Facility (AMRF), located at an elevation of 1616 meters asl, Kosciuszko National Park, NSW. The site is characterised by subalpine woodland vegetation dominated by <i>Eucalyptus pauciflora</i>. Long term climate of the site recorded by the Bureau of Meteorology, Perisher Valley AWS (station no. 071075) shows an annual mean of 11.1° C, with annual mean maximum of 12.2° C and annual mean minimum of 9.7° C</br>

Purpose
The primary purpose is to investigate the exchange of CO2 and water vapor between the atmosphere and land surface (vegetation, soil, vadose zone and groundwater), in a subalpine woodland in NSW. The water, energy and carbon dioxide fluxes form essential boundary conditions for environmental models and must be measured. The purpose of the Aqueduct SnowGum flux station is to :<br/> measure the exchanges of carbon dioxide, water vapour and energy between a healthy snowgum (<i>Eucalyptus pauciflora</i>) ecosystem and the atmosphere using micrometeorological techniques.<br/>

Other
If the data quality is poor, the data is filled from alternative sources. Filled data can be identified by the Quality Controls flags in the dataset. Quality control checks include (i) range checks for plausible limits, (ii) spike detection, (iii) dependency on other variables and (iv) manual rejection of date ranges. Specific checks applied to the sonic and IRGA data include rejection of points based on the sonic and IRGA diagnostic values and on either automatic gain control (AGC) or CO2 and H2O signal strength, depending upon the configuration of the IRGA. For more details, refer to Isaac et al (2017) in the Publications section, https://doi.org/10.5194/bg-14-2903-2017. For further information about the software (PyFluxPro) used to process and quality control the flux data, see https://github.com/OzFlux/PyFluxPro/wiki .

Resource lineage

Statement
All flux raw data is subject to the quality control process OzFlux QA/QC to generate data from L1 to L6. Levels 3 to 6 are available for re-use. Datasets contain Quality Controls flags which will indicate when data quality is poor and has been filled from alternative sources. For more details, refer to Isaac et al (2017) in the Publications section, https://doi.org/10.5194/bg-14-2903-2017 .
