- Statement
- Bird surveys at the Karawatha Peri-urban site were conducted by walking a 250 m x 40 m plot with sight and aural detections included. Counts lasted a total of 20 minutes. Replicated surveys of plots throughout the site were made on three separate occasions during the sample period. All surveys were conducted during the early morning beginning 30 minutes after sunrise continuing through for 3-4 hours. Surveys were not undertaken in periods of rain, high wind or high cloud cover. All birds viewed flying directly above the canopy were not included as present within the forest.
