Statement
Weather data collected using an automatic weather station (Weathermaster 2000 model, Environdata, Australia) located on site at 48m ASL near the edge of the forest, station height: 2.0m; surface type: mostly covered by grass. Rainfall was recorded using a tipping bucket rain gauge (accuracy 2%, resolution 0.2 mm), temperature was recorded using a semiconductor sensor (accuracy 0.2 °C, resolution 0.1 °C), relative humidity using an electronic capacitance sensor (accuracy 4%, resolution 0.1%). Wind speed was recorded using a 3 cup anemometer (resolution 0.1 kph, threshold 1 kph), wind direction was measured using a Hall effect sensor (resolution 2°, accuracy 2°). Global incoming radiation was measured with a pyranometer using cosine correction (accuracy 3%). When sensor failure occurred gap filling was carried out where possible using data from the local Ozflux station or the nearby Bureau of Meteorology precipitation data (Cape Tribulation store) – this has been identified in the dataset. Data was stored at hourly intervals and summed or averaged to provide daily values. Hourly data is available by contacting Associate Professor Mike Liddell directly.
